Maple vs Toads on Toast vs Not My Girl - Our favourite was Toads on Toast because Mama Toad tricks Fox into eating eggs instead of toadlets. We found the illustrations funny and liked how the author put in the recipe at the end.

Maple vs Toads on Toast vs Not My Girl - Toads on Toast was the winner because it was funny and amusing how Mama Toad tricked Fox. We liked the ending because now Fox does not eat toads anymore!

Maple vs Toads on Toast vs Not My Girl - Our winner was Not My Girl because we enjoyed reading about Inuit life. We also gained more knowledge about how difficult it was for Inuit children to return home after being in a residential school. The ending was great!

Maple vs Toads on Toast vs Not My Girl - Our favourite was Toads on Toast because we enjoyed how Fox looked in cookbooks to find out more information on how to cook toads. It was funny when Mama Toad tricked Fox by making "Toads on Toast" with eggs instead of toadlets.

Maple vs Toads on Toast vs Not My Girl - Our winner was Toads on Toast. Fox wanted to catch baby toads for a tasty treat. Mama Toad tricks Fox into liking eggs on toast instead. We enjoyed the illustrations and the recipe at the end.

Toads on Toast Vs. The Bear’s Song Vs. Circle, Square Moose

We picked Toads on Toast for the winner.  We liked this book because the Mamma Toad was very crafty tricking Fox into releasing her babies.  We enjoyed the illustrations, they were funny especially the expressions on the toadlets.  Our favourite part was when Mamma Toad flattened herself on the cookbook.

Toads on Toast Vs. The Bear’s Song Vs. Circle, Square Moose

We liked the book Circle, Square Moose the best because it was very entertaining.  We liked the character Moose.  He continued to cause problems for the narrator.  We also enjoyed the ending because Moose fixed his mess.

Our group liked Toads on Toast the best.  We liked this picture book because of Mamma Toad.  We thought she was very clever in saving her toadlets from Fox.  Mamma Toad was very funny while disciplining her babies.  We liked the recipe at the end.

Toads on Toast Vs. The Bear’s Song Vs. Circle, Square Moose

Our group voted for The Bear’s Song.  We like this book because Papa Bear was able to find Baby Bear.  We liked the pictures because they were colorful, entertaining and there was a lot of detail.  Our favourite part was when Papa Bear sang the bear’s song and Baby Bear was the only one left to applaud.

Our group picked Toads on Toast.  We loved this book because of the humour.  We liked how the Mamma tricked the Fox so Fox wouldn’t eat her “toadlets”.  One of our favourite lines was “Nooo! Don’t take my babies!”  We enjoyed the illustrations, they were very funny.  We liked the recipe at the end too.
